Peregrine Relocations provides expert relocation services for subsidized housing. We specialize in high quality tenant care, and our team is experienced in Federal Uniform Relocation Act (URA) compliance. It’s our job to help care for the tenants who are relocated during a rehab project, and to keep construction moving along on schedule.

CASE STUDY: Westmoreland’s Union Manor

Renovation of Westmoreland’s Union Manor required the temporary relocation of all the tenants in this 300 unit subsidized building, which is restricted to residents aged 62 or better. This project required compliance with the URA and was the first official project for Peregrine Relocations. A limited number of units in the building were available to use as temporary housing, so Peregrine Relocations rented some market rate units offsite, scouted for local hotels with kitchens, and also helped facilitate friend and family stays for the tenants who had that option. This project was the foundation on which Peregrine’s expert relocation services were built, and we have followed this model for most of the relocations we’ve done since.

Some apartment upgrades, such as improved accessibility for tenants in wheelchairs or with other disabilities, may require a tenant to move out for just a short amount of time, anywhere from a few days to a few months. The tear-down of an older building and reconstruction of a new one in its place may require the residents to relocate permanently. We can assist with permanent as well as temporary relocation needs.

Peregrine will source housing that is appropriate to the situation, whether that means hotel stays or apartment rentals. Our in-house team of professional packers makes sure that all residents, their pets, and their belongings are treated with care and respect.
