TENANT STORIES
SOME KIND WORDS FROM OUR WONDERFUL TENANTS
We are thankful to be able to share stories and advice from tenants who have already packed up, relocated and returned home. You may find that someone else has already experienced some of the concerns you have and, in reading through the tenant stories below, can find out how they were addressed by someone in the same situation! There’s also some good advice here, too, which we have marked with an asterisk.
It was so simple, it was just a blink. They were so kind and it was so simple. It was just a blessing. Afterwards, the packers helped with artwork, except for the ones you wanted to do yourself for a new look. The new heater was a pleasant surprise when I got back. You put your hand on the controls and get any heat you want. I am really very pleased with this apartment. *When I found out about the move, there was a lot of things I wanted to get rid of… things I didn’t need. My best advice is don’t edit when you pack. Edit before!
After the interview with Peregrine Relocations I felt more confident. I felt that my personal things wold be taken care of in a safe manner. I felt better after meeting the people and leaning that they were experienced, and that they would handle my move in a very professional way. You really don’t have to do anything, just sit back and let them do their jobs. The move is only as stressful as you make it. Your time goes by very quickly and before you know it, you’re back. It’s very wonderful to come back to a whole new apartment. I really liked my little apartment where I spent my relocation. Peregrine Relocations really tries to accommodate your needs as a resident. You’re really here to help us.
I kept thinking what good listeners all the staff were, very reassuring. For my temporary place, they found me just what I asked for. During relocation, the packers really helped me feel at home. I felt nurtured and cared for throughout the whole experience. The sense of teamwork is very much appreciated. Everybody was so bright, so intelligent. They practiced creative thinking. I felt that all the packers, and John and Tara, were interested in me as a person, not just as a job. *What few things you’re going to need, it’s hard to tell in advance. I didn’t miss anything that I left behind. And I didn’t need everything that I brought. I felt refreshed by getting out of my ruts, my familiar patterns. It’s good for us as older people.
I was relocated on October 26, 2015 and returned January 8, 2016 — a 76-day period. It was absolutely wonderful to have all that help before the move from John, Tara, and Larisa at different times throughout. Nothing went wrong; everything went right. I stayed with my daughter and she was pleased by the financial incentive to take me in, and I got to see my daughter and granddaughter a lot. I was so happy with everything. I can’t think of a single negative thing! Everyone was so well organized. *I even got acquainted with some modern technology; I got a cell phone. John helped me with setting it up and now I wonder how I ever lived without it!
As the date of our relocation drew near, paranoia ran high. I was worried about my belongings, the hotel, and Murphy’s Law. I was wrong. My needs were met, the staff was professional, the packers were superb, and everything went well. If we ever have to do it again (God forbid!), I hope that we have the same people.
