Larisa Zimmerman
Relocation Experts
Since 2013, Peregrine Relocations has been a relocation expert, assisting hundreds and possibly thousands of people in the temporary packing and unpacking of their lives. Working closely with social organizations and construction companies in the Portland/Vancouver area, the Peregrine team is experienced in managing every step of the tenant relocation process.
Our founder, Larisa Zimmerman, was mentored into this work by writer and civil rights activist Martha Gies. Martha had extensive knowledge of where displaced tenants could be relocated in the portfolio of low-income housing buildings in Portland, and when Martha retired, in 2013, Larisa founded Peregrine Relocations LLC and continues her work today.
Since its founding, Larisa has become a regional relocation export, working on dozens of relocation projects, gaining crucial knowledge on the regional affordable housing market, and the needs of affordable housing advocates, social services organizations, and construction & development companies. She is an experienced relocation manager with a strong history of working with the elderly and disabled in low income housing. She’s skilled in working with nonprofit organizations, overseeing detailed projects, and orchestrating scheduling & communications operations.
The word “peregrination” means to take a journey, which describes the core of our relocation work. Any relocation project Peregrine takes on is a team effort, hiring packers who are conscientious, honest, and hard working. We work closely with tenants who entrust us with the care of their belongings, and we strive to treat all building residents with kindness and compassion. We follow Federal Uniform Relocation Act guidelines, and scrupulously maintain required records during the subsidized building remodeling process.
