Extended Temporary Relocation

Extended temporary relocations often occur when a renovation project involves construction of an entirely new building.

Avenue Plaza, operated by Sabin CDC, is a 22 unit, Project Based Section 8 community in the Sabin neighborhood of NE Portland. The project is to tear down the two existing 2-story buildings and replace them with one 5-story building with 78 total units: 22 Project-Based Section 8 units, and 56 Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) units.

Peregrine Relocations is providing relocation advisory services and URA compliance to assist tenants at Avenue Plaza as the project requires compliance with the Uniform Relocation Act (URA). Due to the duration of the project, the tenants are offered the options of either an Extended Temporary relocation or Permanent relocation. Construction of the new building is anticipated to take approximately 24 months.

Peregrine Relocations is working with tenants to locate temporary or permanent housing, assist tenants with rental applications, pack and move their contents to their relocation housing. The project is expected to be completed Winter 27/28. When construction is complete, Peregrine Relocations will move the temporarily relocated tenants back to their reserved apartments at the new building: Nicole Brown Commons.
